The ski season is officially here and I consider it early enough to get some good training in. Today Jefe and I spend the day inbounds at Stevens Pass Mountain Resort. Later in the afternoon we jumped across the road for some slack country touring. It was a good leg burn with pretty unfortunate skiing down. The wind had exposed last weeks rain crust aka blue ice. Repeat tomorrow. Hope it snows!

6:00AM… Alarm. SNOOZE

6:15AM… Alarm. SNOOZE
6:30AM… Up.
7:00AM… Pack the car. Skis, boots, goggles, poles, gloves, beanie, pass. Check.
7:05AM… Drop off Jefe at the bus stop. Bye Jefe Wish you could come.
7:30AM… Stuck on I-405 South ARG Seattle Traffic!

8:00AM-8:30AM Monroe, Sultan, Goldbar, Index….

8:50AM… Pull into Stevens Pass.
9:05AM… 1st chair lift…..SKI SKI SKI

11:35AM… Back at the car.
12:30PM… Sultan gas station. Coke. Sandwich.
1:05PM… Pull into Work (Cat’s Exclusive Veterinary Center). Change.
1:45PM… Clock in
5:45PM… Clock out.
7:00PM… Home. Dinner (Tuna Melt + Cholula)

7:30PM… Blog.

9:00PM… SLEEP

Stevens Pass

This year I am focusing on educating myself about backcountry safety and spending more time earning my turns. My first day on skis this year was touring up to Skyline Ridge in Stevens Pass with Jeff. The conditions were still thin and did not permit us to ski what we wanted but the touring was good.

This year is La Nina and so far she has been living up to her name. The Pacific Northwest has already received a fair amount of storms and other regions such as Utah and Colorado are getting storm after storm.
